Memories
Bern Njeuma Something in Common Part II July 2, 2013

Another thing we had in common was the fact that we were last children in our respective families and made it our responsibility to cater for everyone else. However, I must confess that in your case, you went above and beyond the call of duty. So, for having the compassionate spirit and heart that reached out and touched everyone in that special way, I salute you and cherish the memories that I have of you. I still have the Kabba that you gave me during my last visit and will try to wear it more frequently to keep your memory alive. I remember you fondly by your special dance moves when you visited Maryland, I remember the special way you talked, oh, and that infectious smile of yours; these and more will remain indelible in my memory. I know you will be highly appreciated in your new abode as we all appreciated you here on earth. May your soul rest in perfect peace.
Alice Njeuma SMILING BEAUTY VERO July 2, 2013

When I left you few weeks ago and told you I was coming soon, I did not know that I was coming to bury YOU! I thought I was coming so we can continue our sister to sister talk, we always had and laughed away our stress to joy.
Vero you have been a great blessing to all of us far and near family, friends, relatives, children, grandchildren. A lady of great opinion, full of courage and strenght. you battled through each challenge you faced and succeeded at the end with great joy.
I cannot enemerate all the great things you did to our families with a smile both at home and abroad, you were always there for us. May God bless you for that Vero. We are already missing your smile and your presence around us.
We the family, friends, relatives and all those whose lives you touched in one way or the other say THANK YOU for all you did to us, you will always be remembered. We love you dearly but God loves you best.
Good bye and rest in peace with the lord in heaven ameen.

My dear sister Vero, I have known you my entire life and somehow I always thought, in fact, I took it for granted that you will always be there whenever I came around. I still remember when I came for my  mom's and my brother's funerals, and we all sprawled around in the back segment of your premises that was still under construction. Even though these were sad occasions, you made us all feel very much at home, feeding us to more than capacity without expecting anything in return. People like you are now a very rare and endangered specie. I always remember your tirelessness as you worked nonestop to help raise your late sister's children and of course, yours later down the road. That's one thing you and I had in common,  we could have formed the "Super Nannies' Club". But who was thinking business in those good old days?!  Do you even remember that you taught me a valuable lesson  regarding feminine hygiene. Those are things that a young lady in her developmental stages never forgets.(Finish later)

You always care for  people and you were a strong person who worked so hard .I feel bad for your departure but I know that God is good and we will meet again. Ever since Yetna told me you were in the hospital, I felt pain and  prayed everyday that you would get better. I prayed harder because i knew exactly how the pains were being someone who have earlier gone through what you were going through. Even though God spared me, He said to you " My daughter Veronica, come home where you belong" and you answered to the call. Now that your gone, I  pray God to allocate a better place for you in his Kingdom as he promised you because i know you deserve it. Mama you now own a heavenly address.Wow , i will soon mail you a letter. What can i write about you concerning your kindness and good memories. Will it be  our first encounter or the last one. The last time i met you, you were so nice to me. I came to check on Yetna and due to the bad weather we had in North America and Europe that year, he changed his flight and i arrived Cameroon before him and even left before he came. When i introduced myself, You were happy and asked me if i have taken fertilizer over the years to grow so big that you can't even make me out. It was fun. RIP Mama

Thus I say onto you, Who so ever belief in me eventhough she dies will have eternal life" "MAMA" you lived by the quote " It is more blessed to give than to receive" Your life is a testimony of what you believed. To some people, you were Chief Cashier/Accountant at the Buea Provincial Treasury, to others you were auntie Vero, grandma, sister, cousin and friend but to us your children, you were our  "ROCK". Mom you cared and fed everyone who came your way. You were always willing to help out anyone in need and had a very kind heart. This explains why your house was always filled with family, friends and even people you didn't know. Mom loved to cook and entertain whoever stopped by.

I couldn't have asked for a better mother. All that I am or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother Veronica Edimo. She was always there for me and she always moved swiftly to correct me when i went wrong. Mom. you were an inspiration to the entire Buea community. Your integrity, simplicity, selflessness and generous heart will live within us even with your passing.

A day before you passed to the realm of your HEAVENLY FATHER, I called and you reminded me of how proud and a sense of fulfillment you have in your heart for raising five beautiful kids. Mom, you walk the walk and finished a perfect race.

Mama, you always reminded me of the importance of unity among family. We will forever lived to hold tight to those values. I will miss you dearly mom but i am comforted by the happy moments we shared together. Eventhough you are gone in flesh, your spirit and memories will live on in our hearts forever.

Adieu Mama till we meet again.
